I. Introduction. Greetings. Good morning my dear students. It’s so nice too see you. Are you happy to have our English today?
Ps. – Yes.
So, let’s sit down and start our work.
II. Introducing the theme and expected results.
Look at the blackboard. There is a theme of our lesson. But all the words in it are written together. Try to divide these words and read the theme of our lesson.
transportinourcity
Pupils read the theme.
Well-done. At this lesson we’ll have a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of transport in our city. Before the end of the lesson you’ll learn to express your own opinion, give arguments and discuss it in groups using active vocabulary on the topic.
III. Warming up
To check your knowledge about the kinds of transport guess my riddles:
This is a house on wheels in running a race,
Taking people from place to place. (A bus)
Houses run upon these rails
Over hills and over dales. (A railway and a train)
When it is driven it goes,
When it stops, it falls down. (A bike)
We’re half a tram and half a bus,
Will you come and ride in us. (A trolley-bus)
What is it? That has no wheels
And leaves no tracks behind it? (A boat)
Through not a bird, not a butterfly,
I can fly high up in the sky. (A plane)
Great. You’re very smart. You’ve guessed everything. Make up a sentence with these words and tell us.
IY. Main part
Answer the question: What kind of transport do you prefer and why?
Take the first sheet of paper and read with me:

Let’s revise the degrees of the adjectives. Form comparative and superlative degrees from these adjectives. Traffic, stressful, economical, tiring, comfortable, convenient, safe, frustrating.

Put the text in correct order.
LONDON BUSES
If you are on holiday in London, travel by bus. London buses are called double-deckers. They have a driver and a conductor. Look at the sign on the front, on the side or on the back of the bus to know where the bus is going. Read a notice board at the bus-stop to know the places on the bus route.
When you get on the bus, the conductor says, “Fares, please”. You say where you want to go, he tells you how much to pay, you pay him and he gives you a ticket. Keep it till the end of your trip!
LONDON UNDERGROUND (TUBE)
You can get to most places in London very quickly by the underground. There are many lines on the London Underground. All the lines are of a different colour on the map. Buy the ticket from the ticket-office at the Underground station, or from the automatic machine. Keep the ticket till the end of your journey.
TAXI
If you are in a hurry, the fastest way of travelling is by taxi. Do you know what a London taxi looks like? Their special shape and black colour are famous all over the world. The black cabs as they are called, have become the symbol of London. Now the taxi drivers have their cabs in different colours – red, green, even silver. And soon the shape is going to change, too. London drivers have green badges on their jackets. They have to know all the routes around the capital perfectly.
Let’s check.
Please, answer my next questions
1. Whom can you see in the double-decker? (We can see a driver and a conductor.)
2. What did you know about London underground? (There are many lines of different colours on the map of the London underground.)
3. How does a London taxi look like? (Nowadays they are in different colours: black, red, green, even silver.)
4. What interesting information have you learnt from the text? (I learnt that the black cabs had become the symbol of London.)

Калюжная М.В. написал(а) 4500 дней назад (нейтрально) 0Уважаемые коллеги! Спасибо за отзыв огромное-огромное. Когда был анализ урока мне тоже указали на этот пункт, а если еще и добавить, что это была тема моей методической проблемы, то вывод был: не знаю англ., не знаю методику преподавания и не знаю интернет.
От ИКТ отошла сознательно, обычно приношу на урок свой ноутбук, на нем и работаем. А здесь решила без технологий.
