Theme: The Lost Thing
Objectives: practice students’ listening and speaking skills; use audio online for communication
Materials: notebook, Wi-Fi zone, papers, pencils.
1. Warming-up. The Lost Thing. What does it mean? Students’ own answers.
2. Ask students to discuss: - Have you lost something? - How do you feel when you have lost something? - Are you excited to find out?
3. Go to http://www.thelostthing.com/ for information about Shaun Tan and the film “The Lost Thing”. Ask learners to make the plan of the article.
4. Look at the official trailer and write the answers on the questions: - Where does the story take places? - Who is main hero? - What does he or she look like? - What happens to the main character?Students present their answers.
5. (For Teacher) Go to http://vocaroo.com/ and ask students to draw their own “The Lost Thing”.Students draw their posters.
6. (For Students) Go to http://www.chirbit.com/ and create podcast about your “Lost Thing”.
7. Collect students’ work and create a blogpost. Present it. Look at http://margaritapodcasting.blogspot.com/2012/03/lost-thing.html
8. Hometask. Look at the whole film “The Lost Thing” and think What is the main idea of this story?
9. Write the letter to Shaun Tan and get his comment.
